Ravines Wine Cellars

The 2020 vintage is a vibrant and elegant single vineyard Pinot Noir that will make a believer of any Pinot Noir fan, not aware of the world-class potential for this varietal in the Finger Lakes.

The wine has a glowing, garnet and burgundy color, along with a dense, lifted nose of herbs, mint, cloves, orange zest and dried rhubarb. Taught acidity melds with juicy strawberry, white pepper and craisins, culminating in a long complex finish. This is already delicious but will continue to improve and gain complexity with age.

From the steep sloping Two Gorges Vineyard (formerly known as the Glen Eldridge Vineyard) that falls sharply into the waters of Seneca Lake. A robust and structured, cool-climate Merlot with black cherries, ripe plum, earth and spice. The depth of the nose and big tannins on the palate point to a very age worthy wine, but the drinkability in its youth is noticeable and inviting with air.   

100% estate, sustainably grown Cabernet Franc from our White Springs and 16 Falls Vineyards. Incredibly fresh and inviting with aromas of redcurrant, cranberries and mountain herbs. The palate is pure and elegant, with notes of raspberries and hints of earth and spice. A perfect rendition of Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc, aged for a year in our 6-year-old, 2000 liter Austrian and Hungarian Oak casks.

Gorgeously textured and lifted with red fruits, spice, earth and fine-grained tannins. 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Merlot (100% estate fruit) from our Limestone and Sixteen Falls Vineyards on Seneca lake. 

Le Petit Caporal Magnum is 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Cabernet Franc, and 21% Merlot. All the grapes come from the famous Argetsinger Vineyard and its adjoining Glen Eldridge vineyard, sloping steeply into the eastern shores of Seneca Lake.
